I teach computer engineering at University Fernando Pessoa and do research at LIACC, University of Porto. As a consultant, I bring what I teach and research to companies and institutions with a concrete problem to solve.
What I do

Applied AI
Computer vision, machine learning and the integration of AI models into products and processes, from prototype to a solution in use. It is the field I research and publish in, from object detection in video to medical image analysis.

Web security
Security reviews of web applications and servers: authentication, HTTP headers, server configuration and OWASP good practice, with what to fix in order of importance.

Web development
Custom websites and web applications, fast, accessible and easy to maintain, like the ones in use under «On the web».

IoT and edge
Sensors, connected devices and edge processing to monitor industrial and environmental processes, as in the research projects on plastic recycling and used cooking oil collection.
What it rests on
- Published research in computer vision, machine learning, IoT and blockchain, in projects funded by COMPETE2030 and FCT.
- Websites and applications in use, from my own products to tools for the university, and others built for companies under confidentiality.
- Professor at UFP since 2009, where I direct the BSc in Computer Engineering.
Where
I work from Porto, in person with organisations in the north of Portugal and remotely with the rest of the country.
